£10 Wine that Tastes Like £40
Viognier. Not exactly a household name, is it?
Most people head straight for Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio or Chardonnay, while poor old Viognier sits on the shelf wondering what it did wrong.
So today I’m putting it to the test. From supermarket bargains to one of the world’s most famous Viogniers from Condrieu, can this gloriously aromatic grape actually deliver the goods?
Expect peaches, apricots, flowers, a few surprises and at least one bottle that made me sit up and pay attention as we play everybody’s favourite game… CLASS, PASS OR ARSE!
🍷 Let me know in the comments: have you ever knowingly bought a bottle of Viognier?
